We hid the brand new home page in the last changelog. Did you spot the new tab? Let's show it off.

Home Page​

Your new home. The home page is where you can find sessions from your friends, the community, and our team, making Rythm a much more open and social experience.

On top of this, you can find featured artists, new albums, trending songs & radios, and more. The home page works in tandem with our last update introducing session settings, allowing you to set your session as open for anyone to find and join. Your session can now show up on the home page for anyone to find! K-Pop stans or Swifties, who will rule the new home page?

Session Independence​

As you may have guessed from the new home page & session settings updates, sessions are no longer tied to your text or voice channel. When you open Rythm, a session is created for you that anyone can join from anywhere, even if they're not in the same server as you. Now you can join a live yoga class or a few mechanics pretending to do their jobs by playing the POV you're a 2005 toyota corolla radio.

Session Chat​

Now you can chat with everyone in a session inside Rythm! This works pretty hand-in-hand with the brand new open sessions.

With the introduction of chat, we've also flipped 🔃 the session log on its head to be more... chat-like. It now flows top to bottom. Oh and... Be nice to it. It just got a face lift and is a little sensitive about it.

Permission Changes​

We're still working on making permissions a lot easier to understand. While we're building, we've made a system that works off the access level of a session.

Open/Public Session

  • Host: Can queue & delete messages
  • Everyone else: Cannot queue or delete messages

Session with Friends Only

  • Host: Can delete messages. No extra permissions for queueing music.
  • Premium Member: Can queue & add radios
  • Free Member: Can add radios when nothing is playing

This system was mainly created just to make the drop of the home page a little smoother with open sessions. We might change the permissions to be a little more freeing in sessions with only friends, allowing anyone control over everything. We'll keep you up-to-date with any changes here, so stay tuned!

Content on Rythm​

This update brought us over 35 new radios from our incredible editorial guy, Qais. These were majorly community-requested radios, so give him some love in our community server! You can also bug him for whatever radios you'd like to see next 😉
